Like you, I'm also willing to learn. I'm work with few other
databases, most notably SQL and Oracle, but I have about 30 years of
database experience dating back to IBM mainframe days. For example,
recently, I learned (or relearned) File Maker Pro so that I could complete a
project that a customer had started.

I've completely jumped ship on a couple of products over the years. As
a matter of fact I switched over to filePro from "Selector III-C" many years
ago because I found filePro to be a much better product than Dbase, Progress
and a couple of others that we evaluated at American Can. So I'm not averse
to jumping ship when there is a clear reason to do so.

I am curious what program, or combination of programs, you working with
now. Maybe I'm missing the boat on something that is
better/easier/cheaper/more flexible than filePro is.

If you did answer this in a previous post, then my apologies. I'm
working out-of-town and already deleted a couple of the longer posts on this
thread.

I'm involved in one massive filePro to Oracle database conversion right
now and that conversion is, quite frankly, failing. The team of programmers
working on it simply can't make the Oracle programs work as well as the
existing filePro apps. (This is the 3rd shot that this company has taken at
trying to replace filePro with something else...) At this point, I think
they would drop the Oracle attempt if I could suggest something that would
work better, even though they have over $1,000,000.00 invested in the
conversion already.

Thanks,
