We would love to and currently have our Web side all Linux. However,
internally the system interfaces with ODBC, numerous Windows Only
scanners, printers, etc. Many software interfaces that are Windows
based and the system has been cludged together, as need required over 15
years.
All my tests indicate that we could move the majority of stuff to Linux
and keep parts that require Windows on Windows. But a real world test
of this is difficult on this scale and there are just too many gotcha's
to make us comfortable to proceed.
So we stay on Windows and hope for better Windows Side speed.
