2006 Developers Conference?

I'm looking at my schedule for next year.
Does anyone have any idea if there will be another filePro Developers
Conference? I am guessing that an idea time would be a month or so after the
release of 6.0 to go over the new features and how to implement them.
If fpTech does not have the staff to do this anymore, what about a community
lead conference? Why not have the people who are on the advisory council act as
the group to get this planned and done?

If I didn't know better (which I do, knowing that 5.0 was supposed to be out for
years before release) I'd say that we might not see the 6.0 release for another
year, so maybe I should be asking about 2007 schedules :] .
Actually I don't need anything in the 6.0 product as I understand it so far. I
*need* an uncoupling between the "Rapid Application Development" layer and the
"Data Storage Layer" for *nix servers. That's not in the works as I understand,
so I won't be purchasing a 6.0 license unless things like that are a part of the
deal. I know if I were an employee-owner of fpTech, I would not want any part of
GPL code attached to filePro, but what about something that is BSD licensed like
HSQLDB as a target for the storage level?
One thing we have not had as a luxury as filePro developers is
"Cheaper/Better/Faster". New version types were more expensive, and thus were
not deployed at expectant levels. Heck, everyone should be using fpGUI instead
of PuTTy or Anzio Windows clients. That is the great shame in all this. However
with the clarity of a monday morning quarterback, it should have been priced so
that a person would be insane not to deploy fpGUI.
I dunno, I have read that we the users of this mailing list are like those who
still believe that Amiga will rise from the ashes and save the computer world.
Perhaps they are right.
