And if net-only support is fine, what the connectivity would be like. For
instance, I -refuse- (flat out -refuse-, as in WILL NOT TOUCH for -any-
price) to muck about with VPN software on my systems. It's ssh, telnet,
rsh, vnc, or nothing.
I've had -so- many bad experiences with VPN software from 3rd parties. The
-last- time I used what someone gave me to work on their gear, it took 5hrs
to repair the Windows registry BY HAND to even get networking and dialup
networking back -at all-, the software screwed the OS so badly. At that
point I decided "never again" and won't even consider it. That was about
the 4th package I'd tried for a client.
I digress, but it's an illustrative point--some people won't do it. I know
I'm not alone in the principle, although my lousy experience with it is
extreme, compared to most.
If ssh, which uses 1024-bit keys that are more secure than most VPN
encryptions at 48 to 168-bit (that was the highest I saw during a cursory
glance through Google results 2 weeks ago, although I suspect there may be
a 256-bit), is not good enough for someone, their loss. Seemed 128-bit was
the most common in the brief results I perused. That's weak compared to
ssh.
IMHO, VPN's are horribly overused for *nix systems.
But yes, do specify things like what the connectivity would be, as well.

There is no "I" in TEAM.
This would be the primary reason I've chosen not to join one.
