This will sound messy, but do a SYSTEM() to *clerk and pass any relevant
info (like an @rn reference) with arguments like -rw, -rx, et al?

First thing that comes to mind, and likely what I would do myself, but
almost certainly far from the most elegant approach.  Be interesting to see
what the Real Wizards bring forth.
