How big can an edit be before it exceeds its boundries

There is absolutely no difference in how filePro handles edits on real
fields versus dummy fields. Given the same length and content, the
results will be identical.
Are you sure the dummy field is long enough? (Some edits expand the
contents of the field.) Are you sure you are comparing apples to apples
and the contents of the dummy field are identical to the contents of the
real field? Is it possible the dummy field contains something that's
not valid according to the edit?
