| | | The thread about printing to 'less' inspired me to do a little
| | | testing. I have these printers define in my config file:
| | |
| | | printer5=file,nocodes,>/tmp/file.txt,Write to a file
| | | printer6=less,nocodes,| less,View using less
| | | printer7=video,nocodes,less,View using less
| | |
| | | My MENU EDIT II program has a menu documentation feature which
| | | allows the user to choose the printer to be used for output.
| | | At the screen where the user may choose what features of the
| | | menu are to be documented, choice A will document the menu
| | | itself, any associated shell scripts, and the menu help file if
| | | one exists.
| | |
| | | I documented a menu which has associated shell scripts and a
| | | help file. After using printer5, 'wc' showed the file size:
| | |
| | | 210 598 5655 /tmp/file.txt
| | |
| |
| | That's a pretty small amount of output. Suppose it were more like a
| | thousand lines long?
|
| I don't have a filePro User Menu with enough associate shell scripts,
| and a help file, that would generate a 1000 lines of documentation, but
| maybe I could fake it. I'll see when I get a round TUIT.
I got a round TUIT. I created a new menu element and a shell script
for it, then catenated a 300 line shell script to that three times.
Executing 'wc' on the documentation output file returns:
1117 7606 38275 /tmp/file.txt
Both documentations printing to 'less' worked AOK as before (and
on return to my main screen there was no longer any corruption -
my having inserted:
system "" ;
at the beginning of line 1484 in prc.me2).
Bob (who thanks Ken for the neater fix)
