Why should this be TRUE

Processing line with condition

   if: @sn co "2_"
 then: bla bla bla

and @sn value of "2            " 
(as shown with show command), why
should above processing line be
TRUE?

This is almost the reverse, say
  if @sn is contained in "2_"

Even if process is just checking
for the one character literal "2"
in @sn, it should result FALSE if
checked to contain "2_" since literal "2"
does not contain "2_".

I have not checked using dummy variables
with defined edit but this behavior
makes think twice about using @sn in lieu
of usual variables for things such as this.
