filepro and the list - be positive

I love filePro and I love the list. I know that it is not a very masculine
thing to say, but it gets the point across.

I make the following comments:

1. Participants: We have a great mix of people with varying skills. That is
the way it should be. Some people get a tremendous benefit from one posting
and others do not, and yet others have the knowledge to embellish upon a
prior posting (at least they think it is an embellishment). This is what the
list is all about. We, the participants, must then decide which new trick or
piece of processing we want to use. If we want to share a piece of
processing, we do so. If we think that we have a better way to do it, we can
share it. But let's not forget that beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.
The reader or the receiver of the posting will make the final decision.

2. Subjective Criticism: This list has no place for subjective criticism of
a particular individual or an approach one has taken in their processing in
solving a particular problem. If someone has a better way, then post the
better way without criticism. Let what you have posted speak for itself. The
reader must decide which way they want to go.

3. Some Are More Aggressive Than Others: We have different personalities
involved with those that interact and share the most with the list. They are
all good people and are well intentioned. What they have shared with us has
been a great benefit to the list in propagating filePro and its uses. There
are two different approaches. On one end of the spectrum we have Ken Brody.
If you are not specific he asks for clarification in one sentence. His
responses are succinct and to the point. If he shows you programming, that
too is succinct and to the point. Not all of us can be a Ken Brody, perhaps
his approach can be a goal we try to attain. I must say that John Esak's
recent posting was phenomenal and for clarity's sake had to be as long as it
was in order for people like me to understand exactly what he meant (well
written). Perhaps that may be the other end of the spectrum.

This list is still alive and well. What we have experienced here was a
hiccup and nothing more. Let's all get on with our work!
