This wasn't at all clear from "Brian's disclosure of Howie's code".
I hadn't seen that Brian said anything about the code being Howie's;
did I miss something?

I don't have an opinion on their relative expertise, but it wasn't on
point anyway.

Perhaps I was in a bad mood when I was reading it, but it didn't come
off that way to me; it sounded like you were tweaking someone.

We each have idiosyncracies of presentation that other people take
wrong at times. You think someone misread you, you clear it up, and
move on. That's why what I said was "your snark level is rising :-)",
rather than "John; you self-important ass!"
