Clearing Browse screens?

No, can't duplicate this in any way. I don't see how it could save out the
format as the "default" format unless you actually go through the steps,
like "S" and etc. To just hit "C" only clears the browse. If you then
e(X)it, nothing much at all should happen. If it does, it is a bug peculiar
to Solaris... (which I doubt, but I suppose is possible.) There is a known
hassle here, in that hitting "S" should in no way EVER bring up the SAVE
function... it SHOULD bring up the Select format function as it does in
dscreen, dmoedef, etc. But, this has been on the wish list for as long as I
can remember. It is SO easy to do what you suggest is happening, but not by
the keystrokes you describe. The problem I'm referring to happens when you
press "C" to clear first... which it happily does for you... then by
accident you press "S" and select another format and press ENTER... thinking
you are (S)electing or (S)witching to that format.... BANG! you've just
cleared that format!. This very same behavior happens in IUA's Extended Scan
where you can easily and inadvertently clobber selection sets as well. The
(S) function in the clerk program is just different than in the creation
programs, and most filePro programmers think this should be conformed to the
way it works in the creation programs. At _worst_ case, the IUA version of
(S) standing for Save _should_ query "Are you SURE you want to overwrite the
existing format...?"
