filePro and barcode labels

Here is another of my oddball, "Hey can filePro do this?" type of questions...

Can filePro on SCO Unix print barcode labels to a Datamax label machine?

We already can print barcode labels to any laser printer we want (thanks to Jim
Asman for the barcode MKPCL utility) and it works great. But a question was
asked about the possibility of printing series of barcode lables to a Datamax
machine (those weird 12" x 12" box type of label printers).

See, the way it is here at Super Radiator Coils, we have a giant high speed
laser printer that prints all the morning reports and barcode reports without a
problem. The admin department was wondering about printing labels for the
customer for each work order, and wondered if filePro could print barcode labels
to a Datamax type of printer. I told the ladies, "Yes, filePro can do anything
- but I will find out from the experts on the list, to make sure".

I see two ways I could do this:

1) Buy a bunch of those Avery labels and design an output form to fit. Then
just load up the tray in the big laser printer and print them all that way.

2) Connect a Datamax type of printer to the SCO Unix system and get Unix to
"talk to it", then get filePro to print a barcode label on it.

What would you decide on, for the best, easiest, method of printing barcode
labels from filePro and SCO Unix?

Thanks again for any help, suggestions, ideas, etc...
