Jim Asman and I worked through the problem in the chat room.

What we found is that, and we don't know why it works, that pass.txt is closed
after using


Close pass	(the alias) for the file.

Apparently filepro considers an import file as if it was a lookup file.  

The message box now shows that pass.txt has been removed.

I still don't know why I was showing a positive 1 when the files wan not
removed.  Aa had not be cast.  Even after setting it aa(3,.0), the values was
still positive until I used close pass.
