It must be on my side, but how??

On Wed, Jun 01, 2005 at 03:23:20PM -0400, John Esak may or may not have
proven themselves an utter git by pronouncing:

I saw your reply to Richard's mail on the list, but not the originating
post. If the list archives are anything to go by (I don't keep everything
from here--just what I think I'll need at hand), Richard supposedly hasn't
made a posting since last Thursday:

 http://diablo.celestial.com/pipermail/filepro-list/2005-June/date.html

Charles posted at 8:32am today, although I don't remember reading it. (No
offense, Charles--i was barely conscious this morning, as someone with
whom I was on the phone would attest to). I still don't see anything from
Richard later than last Thursday.

No messages from their respective addresses got bounced for authorisation
to my memory, and I did check my mail last night and this morning.
Multiple times.

Query: Did the one from Charles have headers from Celestial, or was it
definitely the direct one that you received. Knowing the path might
corroborate a problem with the list, or might let it stay ambiguous. I
think we just established that Richard's got lost unless it's sitting in
an inbound spool so far. (He's listed as GCC in the last one available by
date for May, for reference.)

I just approved Rick's post. The HTTP side of the machine's list
functionality is acting about 10x slower than normal. It's conceivable
it's under heavy load and hasn't gotten to a few things yet. But that
would mean it hasn't hit mailman yet, and is still in an inbound spool.
It's happened before, and when it has, it's been amvisd that seems to have
gotten out of whack, based on anecdotal memory. However, it's obviously
still passing -some- messages, which indicates it's not totally wedged.

I'm afraid only Bill Campbell can give the comprehensive answer for part of
this. But check your headers on the copy of Charles' mail and see which
one hit your box. I'm not even sure it's the -same- one as hit the list
archives.
