The .prc file is simply a text file.  There is no difference in how a
4.8 and 5.0 *cabe will save the file.  (In theory, a 1.0 dcabe would
work just as well -- as long as you don't try to syntax check it.)

Remember, dclerk will compile it at runtime, so the version of dcabe
is irrelevent.

Now, if you were using rabe/rclerk, then _in_theory_ there could be
an issue, but more likely it would only be an issue with an rcabe
which is later than the rclerk.  With few rare exceptions (such as
a incompatibility in import/export between files compiled under DOS
and those compiled under *nix, whih was fixed in 4.8), there should
be no problems in using an old rcabe with a new rclerk/rreport.
