I'm standing in the station with a train ticket in my hand when the lights go
out. A very distinct possibility. Walter put it better than anybody ever
has.

Are you running into industry wide integration of your applications with your
customer's competitors and trading partners?

I am. And as a end user developer it really sucks.

No longer it's about writing a report in seconds, or creating automation.

It's all about integration.

Talking to black boxes.
Talking to applications.

Right about now I feel that I am standing in a pretty nice clean train
station
with nice restaurants and gadget stores galore, however a train is pulling
away
from the station, and I'm not sure if I should be on that train or not. In
the
back of my mind, I have a haunting feeling that I can stay at the station for
just a short time longer till someone turns off the power, and then I'm going
to
be standing in the dark.
