Basically, I have made some progress via suggestions some have made.  
One occurence of the bus errors seemed to be a direct result of not 
locking up records in lookups before performing updates.  The bus errors 
before debug begins to show code still havn't been resolved, but I have 
been guided by some of the helpful people on the list in the right 
direction.  I have a lot of work to do, or so it would seem, and am 
trying to fit in time to work on these issues in between several 
projects.  I greatly appreciate those of you who've provided helpful and 
insightful input into my problems, I'll be sure to keep everyone up to 
date as to what ends up resolving these issues.
