| Your best bet is to usr /appl/fp/termcap in lieu of 
| /etc/termcap.  To do this, user variables FPTERM and
| FPTERMCAP

FPTERMCAP?  What does that do?

And you don't use /appl/fp/termcap *instead* of /etc/termcap.  filePro
has always used both.
