Resolution to Printing nightmare

Several days ago I asked the list for some help on a problem with the
installation of a Brother HL-1440. Thanks for your suggestions. My fix
(although crude by most standards) was to uninstall or remove everything
associated with the HL-11440 except the actual printer itself and do a
system restore to a point several hours before I started with the printer
installation.

The net effect is that I've got a Brother HL-1440 printer with the OKI 1200
driver and everything works peachy keen. Default printer in fP is HPLASER1
which is what it always has been. No problems in Windows or fP.

The only small problem is that when XP is rebooted it detects "New
hardware". I just make it go away. Like I said, crude... but it
works. For those who thought I was blaming fP for my problems, I apologize
because I wasn't. fP for me has been relatively bullet proof through a
whole bunch of hardware and Windows software changes since my first
association with it approximately 20 years ago.

Again, thanks to all who took a moment to reply.
