OK. Just looked up specs on that. Since it's DLT based
what kind of errors are you getting?
For the amount of data I can see that it's a bit small, and also
a bit slow for the amount - it shows 12MB min. Such things
as the AIT-3 run from about 40-110MB min depending on compression
factors. Current models are about 200GB per tape - next generation
will be 500GB native, 1TB compressed - but the last time I saw
those were predicted to be at $5K per drive.
The current HD pricing makes backup to HD look very attractive
and locally I just saw a $399 price on 500GB drives.

The only question I'll ask here is 'the boss' technically savy
enough to make decisions.
