Slight topic drift - but wireless is changing meopment by moment.
Watching the CES reports two thing stuck out. A new wireless
standard for cell phones - and it will be availble in the next
quarter - make broadband for cell phones a do-able thing.
The other is for local wireless use in speeds approaching the
Gigabit range.
There was a flat screen display - no more that 4 inches deep - with
speakers hooked to the edge sort of like ears. Then they picked
the screen up by the ears and walked away with it. Totally
wireless so you can move you movie/net/whatever watching just
by picking up the diplay and taking it with you.
And this technology will probably relplace the 801.11a, 802.11b,
802.11g and others in that area.
