Actually Grey should have done that as Bell appears to have
'stolen' his patent - beating him by only a few hours.

There have been more that one technological advances where the
original inventor got cheated out of their ideas.

Does the name Philo Farnsworth ring a bell.  A single person going
up against 'the general' at RCA didn't have a chance.

Then there was Edwin Armstrong who was also equally screwed over.

Those two are responsible for major adancments in major devices
in use today.  Farnsworth for TV and Armstrong for FM
