[ snipped, many things that need not be repeated and which embarass Me for
Johns sake ]

I don't know what you are talking about John. I don't see what you claim in
Jose's posts at all. Not even a little.

And just for the record, we use qualifiers extensively, primarily to
designate whole companies and sometimes almost-companies or sub-companies
like subcontractors or agents working for a given company. That is a
perfectly admirable and defensible use of qualifiers and yet if we wanted to
give a hundred users each a qualifier in the same file tha already has 30
qualifiers for 30 cmpanies in the same body of code, (and I will rejeject
any suggestion that I should maybe split the companies into their own
filepro trees) it would get pretty uweildly. It would be FAR easier and
saner to use a field.

Maybe the original poster doesn't have a situation like that to worry about,
but does that make Jose's comments actually incorrect? Even inadviseable?
Not even a little.

Is this a 3 year cycle? Are you building up to another "I'm never coming
here again as long as I live or at least until that Mark Fairlite guy is
banned from the list!", only with Jose or some other unfortunate plugged in
that spot this time?
I would say your last couple posts were basically out of character, not
novel though, just been a few years.

Now, you can assign whatever kind of snide or immature attitude you want to
THIS post, but what you can't do is speak on that subject from a position of
authority. I reserve that place for myself and such persons as my mother &
my brother. I am telling you, that I'm not having a teenage belligerance
moment here. I am simply expressing my considered dismay at your treatment
of a fellow list member.
