Richard,
I have printer on USB of XP box (MAIN1) with fp/filepro. Networked to
XP box (CLDTRE) with nothing but batch file on this cpu. Printer
installed and shared on both boxes. The printer share name is PRINTER2.
In fp printer maintenance I have:
WIN:\\MAIN1\PRINTER2.
In filePro, selecting that printer from either or all machines will
print to that printer.
This may not work with '98 but does work with XP pro. I believe better
printer handling is the one worthwhile benefit of moving to XP,
especially from '98. If the terminal cpu costs only $800 (with faster
boose, $499 with slower boose). "Happiness and smooth sailing is worth
more than the $800."
