I have heard "native Linux" and "native FreeBSD".  I think we can drop
the "native" and simply call them "Windows", "Linux", and "FreeBSD"
versions.

Some versions of Windows won't allow "\\server\sharename", when
"server" is the name of the current system.  I believe Win98 is one
of those versions.  However, unless the printer is on a Win98 box,
that wouldn't matter.
