Hi,
Last night's FP Room discussion went very well. There were lots of
LONNNNNNG silences, something which almost never happens normally during the
course of a day in the room... but, the questions that did come were very
good and all got answered pretty well I think. Can't synopsize it much more
than that. Next bi-weekly topic will be Associated Fields as a starting
point... branching into array/overlays and such. I will again endeavor to be
build some little movies to start things off and help them along during the
discussion. See you two weeks from last night (Tuesday)
The movies I make are pretty cool if I may say so myself. I use a unique
tool (in its simplicity) to make these things. In fact, I have re-shaped
some of the old tutorials that I wrote for classes years ago and for the
on-line manual that derived from the fpBible with this tool. I will be
releasing a Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced and Expert group of CD's in the
next few weeks that are really fantastic. I call them the FP Survivor Series
because they are real nitty-gritty reality. There are NO frills, no polish,
no special care taken to smooth out the rough edges. They are well
designed... but but they are nothing more than me running through most of
the things one needs to e a good filePro programmer. You simply watch and
listen while I zoom through the exact steps I take to design and develop a
complete filePro application. Along the way, I show hundreds of tricks I use
to make the job easier. The courses/tutorials are fast... I mean super-fast.
Why? Because the movies take up a good deal of space on disk, so I talk so
fast that you might not even be able to keep up... BUT, you can backspace a
little whenever you want on these things and re-run what you didn't get the
first time. They play in Windows Media Player and you have lots of control.
I will be putting out a complete description about them very soon.
Meanwhile, everyone was impressed with the new tool. It is really something
cool. You all can use it in one way or another to great benefit in your
respective companies. If you want to see more, get into the FP Room and
press F1 or go to the Help Menu for help. There are many movies made there
with this tool. I have come to know the owner/designer of Talking
Communities .com, a very nice man named George Buys. I've told him how
interested most filePro developers are in neat new tools like this and told
him I would show it in the room last night. He offered to give FP'ers a 10%
discount on the product if they mention a code that I was to pass out in the
meeting. However, they did not get me the code until today by mistake, so
I'm publishing it now. Get your copy of this marvelous tool for only $49 or
$45 with the 10% discount. You will _never_ buy a more valuable piece of
software... and you can take that to the bank. I have used this tool
throughout my company to teach people how to use everything from Windows to
special apps, to filePro, to etc. It is just too neat. Anyway, no, I don't
make any money on the deal, there is no kick-back... don't need such
things... this is just one of those things I feel I have to pass along...
and judging by the gasps and appreciation of everyone last night... no one
will pounce on this as any other kind of offering but a good one that should
be taken advantage of... Why not, what else does the FP community get
easily... not much. So, enjoy. There, by the way, is a contest for whoever
builds the coolest movie with this tool... check it all out below and get
your copy paid for and more by doing something clever. Good luck.
