| Hello all,
|
| Many years ago I was here. Most of the information you discuss is way
| over my head, but right now I'm stuck on something and I know one of ya
| has the solution to my dilemma.
|
| I am using 5.0.14D9 on WIN98 SE.
|
| I have a text file. Each record is 23 characters long.
| There are 120,526,770 records and I can not open the
| file with fp. " No records available " I have it
| broke into 2 files 60,263,385 records that I can
| read just fine.
|
| I thought that since it was a text file fp had an issue
| with that. I open a fp file and went to expand it and
| it said max records was 49,933,627 at a rl of 23
| and this is on a 40 gig HD with 37 gig free. I have pfdsk
| and pfdata pointed to the right drive. C drive has 7 gig free.
|
|
| I went back and shortened the file to 19 and got a offer
| of 55,055,024. I tried 10 and it was 71,571,532.
|
| I worked it out and it seems 2,147,147,936 to 960 seems to
| be the end of track, so to speak.
|
| My 120,526,770 file is 2,772,115,710, just a tad over what
| it seems to like.
I don't think you're facing a filePro limit, but an Operating System
limit of a 2Gb maximum file size. There are tons of references on
Google, inter alia this one:
