I'm amazed that no one has mentioned the Iomega REV drive.

We've been using one for several months now. With BackupEdge,
you can even create a bootable restore media, with the data
already on it. The drive is around $400 and the media, which
is a mini drive insert, runs around $40.00 ea. The media is
35/90 GB in native/compressed mode. And Iomega boasts a media
life of 1,000,000 passes.

I'm even backing up one of my Linux boxes to the SCO box drive
over TCP/IP and it works very well. The REAL benefit is that it
is extremely fast. I bought after seeing a demo at Microlite.

If Tom Podnar is listening, maybe he can quote published and
actual backup speeds. I think it is worth looking at.
