Probably poor form to follow up one's own post, but I figured -someone-
would wonder what the heck "4F3" was for a search keyword. Fair question.
And maybe this will help someone if they need to do something funky in the
future.

Ever seen an expanding/collapsing category tree list, similar to a
directory listing? We needed to be able to have the same function search
for both keywords and categories. We took the tree and alternated numerics
and alphas at each level. Top level is numerics starting at 1, next
subtopic is alphas starting at A, next subtopic is numerics at 1, and so
on.

So 4F3 is really the third sub-sub category, under the sixth sub-category,
under the fourth top-level category.

Actually, if you type in 4F3, you'll get the same thing as if you clicked
on the category in the tree. Every entry has a category-based keyword
combination. It was an "interesting" way of skinning this particular cat.

I imagine there are other cats for which this might be a suitable skinning
implement, so there ya go.
