virtual PC record locking

I ran across a wierd setup today - a customer had an old fp 4.8.10
installation - they had upgraded all their PCs to Win2000 (not sure
why they didn't go XP, this must've been 2 years ago) - and they
bought & setup Connectix Virtual PC to run filePro within Win/98se
emulation as the fp they had did not run correctly under windows
2000. fp binaries and data all all running/phsically located on
server network share mapped drive.

With this being a 5 user network install (with PFNET=ON FWIW) - i'm
curious - does this setup respect proper record locking? Anyone with
it installed with an opinion?

The reason i was called in there in turned out to be corrupt indexes,
causes could be many with fp version that old so I'm not sure if its
related or not.

It is slow as heck and they are letting me rip out both the virt-pc
and fp4.8 in favor of a 5.0 upgrade, so its really just a matter of
curiosity at this point.
