I just did a Google search for "Virtual PC" and learned a little
about it.
I believe there are two different Microsoft products, a server
and a less powerful "Virtual PC".
One site I found listed over 1000 OS's and whether or not the
"Virtual PC" could accomodate them as "guests". SCO OSR 5.0.x
was listed as working OK, but a note accompanying that listing
had a clue about how to get it working (a previous writer had
said it didn't work).
Many Linux flavors were listed and some worked, some did not
(even among distributions from the same source). Same w/ BSD.
Some worked only if you limited the memory assigned to the
guest, some worked but with other limitations, etc.
