I'll try and make this quick...
The filePro Survivor Series has gotten such a great response. All I can say
is thanks. I have gotten so many "Thank You!!!'s" and "This is BETTER than I
ever expected!!'s" in both email and phone messages. Everyone is so
enthusiastic about the CD's and apparently telling others. I couldn't be
happier, one, obviously, because they're selling so well and I'm making some
good money to cover the immense amount of time I put into making this
series. Two, because so many users who I have never heard from or haven't
heard from in decades are popping up to buy them. The usual talk on the
phone or email says something like: "I've been using filePro for 20 years
and I've wanted something like this forever. Thank you so much for stepping
forward and doing it so well." Yes, I'm patting myself on the back by
printing this... and you may certainly feel at seeing this that I could use
a refresher in Humility 101... :-) But, dammit, it's happening just the way
I'm telling you, and I've got to tell someone... who else would care? I show
such things to my wife and only get a "That's nice, dear. What's on TV
tonight?" :-)
Anyway, thanks all.
Now, for the IMPORTANT part of this ADVert. If you are going to buy the
series, have been meaning to do it and just putting it off. Or, if you
haven't heard of it yet, go take a look now, and buy it by the end of the
month. On August 31st at midnight, the FREE filePro Survivor Addendum will
cease being FREE with the purchase of the fPSS, and will immediately start
costing $75/yr. On September 1st, I will open the link that will let you
purchase the Addendum by itself. Until then, just purchasing the Full
Programming set gets you the Addendum for one full year FREE.
What is the fpSA? The filePro Survivor Addendum is a CD magazine about
filePro. It will include mostly movies of a how-to nature (similar to the
filePro Survivor Series Programming CD's). There will be at least one full
mini-app on each CD, and as many other little snips of useful code as I have
time to put on it. I will add the colon-delimited prc tables for all this
stuff on the CD so you can easily add it to your systems. I will also put
whatever text articles about filePro that may seem useful or timely on the
CD. These CD's will be released quarterly at the beginning of each quarter,
starting October 1st, 2005. Purchasing the filePro Survivor Series full
programming set by August 31st, 2005 gets you the first year FREE.
In the future (future being defined as any date after 08/31/05) the fPSA
CD's will cost $75/yr. Years for subscription will be calculated starting
from 10/01/2005. If you purchase during the middle of any "subscription
year", you will receive any CD's that were already produced for that
subscription year and get any upcoming CD's that finish out the subscription
year. There will be no way to purchase a single quarter's CD by itself. I
have done this magazine thing a couple times before, and this is the ONLY
way I'm prepared to do it again. Much to hard (and costly) to do it any
other way, sorry.
So, if you have not bought the full programming Tutorials (which assume you
have no previous programming or filePro knowledge at all, and take you up
through to an "extremely" advanced programming level in a step-by-step
format that lets you play-rewind-fast-forward at your own pace) please go
check out the following link. Look at the samples, then get your order in by
August 31st, 2005. (Have your speakers on, this link will "talk" to you!)

Incidentally, if you are not a programmer or not too conversant with filePro
yet, and you look at the Advanced sample, you might be a little daunted and
think there is No way you could learn this stuff... Don't be! I promise you
that if you start form the Beginning CD and take each lesson, by the time
you arrive at the Advanced CD and all the way through to its last lesson,
you will understand and comprehend every single thing I'm showing you on the
screen. Also, I think (and have now several confirmations) that the CD's do
as I describe and leave you at a place where you can write almost any kind
of filePro application. More over, they leave you at a place where you can
easily learn any filePro command not covered in the Tutorial itself. These
are their main purpose for existing. For once, I have apparently
accomplished my goals. It's a good feeling and I *do* think I've done a
valuable service to filePro and the filePro community. And this is worth
just as much to me as making the money from these sales. In case you don't
know me or anything about my professional ethics... If I didn't think you
were receiving the full value of your purchase in this product, I wouldn't
sell it, or I would sell it at a lower cost to make sure this always stays
true. These CD's are worth far more than their cost. Bank on this, or just
ask someone who has already purchased them.
Thanks for reading... if you got this far. Remember, sale ends on
08/31/2005. Get your order in before then.
