Okay, let me be the first to reply with:  "HTML doesn't belong
in e-mail".

I've never used it, but if the file ends up in the header, then why
not start the file with:

    Content-Type: text/html
    (blank line)
    the rest of the file.

This will place the "content-type" line in the header, and the blank
line ends the headers.
