That's actually not John's fault.
Sight-unseen (and I'm sure his product is fantastic), I can almost
categorically say that's a browser issue, whereby the video gets launched,
but the hyperlinks aren't refreshed on-screen until the page is refreshed,
either by hitting refresh explicitly, or via further navigation.
Not uncommon to hit this on web sites that have a certain design. It's
just as much a flaw as having pages show all named anchors for the same
page as having been visited, simply because they're in the same document
that you've just loaded, or having ten or twenty named anchors show as
visited from one document in which you viewed one--it's inaccurate
tracking.
It's been a decade, and browsers still do daffy stuff sometimes.
