The Datamaxes require special formatting of the data you send to them;
they will not print anything at all if you send them just raw ASCII.
Do you have an already formatted Datamax output format with the
necessary special strings as print codes?
If so, then yes, you just set up an lp queue with the appropriate
/dev/ttyXX as it's -v devices, using lpadmin.
