That's why I suggested FreeBSD with all the security errata/blanket that 
comes with it. The RH8 port AFAICT is clean (older RH ports have been 
pulled for security issues).

Me? I've been fooling around with CentOS4 this week installing 
Oracle10g. I'll never complain about a complicated install regarding 
filePro ever again. It ain't just pop in a cd and click on an icon.
At least not on Linux. On the other hand they document everything, and 
make it pretty easy to just cut and paste configuration changes into the 
OS. For me third time was the charm (to steal someone's trademark "learn 
by destroying"), since you really have to read and follow *all* the 
documentation to the end.

The evil thing is that I'm doing it on a $199 walmart.com computer that 
I just put a $129 stick of memory into to get the memory over 1/2 Gig.

Hopefully next week I'll try connecting fpODBC to this Oracle server.
