Mark gave you part of an answer to this problem.  I wrote an app which required
10 screens for all of the related data.  Once the clerk was in update mode, when
enter was pressed at the bottom right field of the screen, the program changed
screens to the next one.  Moving to the upper left and pressing the up arrow or
page up, move back a screen.  Page up or page down would switch to the previous
or next screen.

This was relatively easy with the programming tools available.
