Yup. And owned a Citbria.**  Fabric, stick, heel brakes, and tail
wheel.  I outgrew the need for a training wheel up front.

No nav gear, just a wet compass, vacuum guages driven by an outside
venturi, and hand full of maps.

I flew up to Mikes country three times [ about 20 miles away ]
and for two of those my son an I lived in a 2 man pup tent under
the wing for 8 days at Oskosh.  [Took the club trainer - Piper 140
- from Florida to Idaho once - now that is a cross country. My son
was only 5 so it wasn't that cramped]

Those were the days before litigation forced costs so high than
anyone could afford to fly.

** Champion Citabria modifed from the original Aeronca design when
Champion bought them and before Bellanca bought them.
