When I was doing a lot of exporting of filePro to a mainframe,
and the loading from the mainframe, the PC community seemed
to think fixed lenght always had a record deliminter.

The PC's would litteraly lock up when a pure fixed lenght record
was shipped to so much of the software on those.

>From my POV the PC world has redefined the definition of
fixed length.
