Fixed length file & leading spaces

Jean-Pierre,

You are absolutely wrong!!! If you had been following my e-mail interaction
with Ken you would have observed, or should have observed, that I am still
awaiting for filePro's confirmation that filePro will work with AIX 5.1 and
preferrably 5.2 (where the machine confiiguration and new operating system
are quite different than 5.1). We most probaly would have to go with 5.2.

If you want a copy of that first e-mail I will send it to you. I have not
been silent, filePro has been silent. I suggest you get your facts straight
or follow the list on a daily basis so you are aware of what has been said
and what has not been said.

I am one of filePro's most agressive supporters. I have spent many hours
trying to help filePro stay alive without any compensation or expectation of
compensation.

Furthermore, this is the first time I have been so outspoken on the list.
You should make sure you have your facts straight.

trying to use -a. All the fields created are exported perfectly, except for
the first field which has leading spaces. In that case the field moves left
causing the file to be out of sync for the receiver of the file who is
expecting a certain length.

entire line will move left. The field must be left justified in order for
the export to work so that the leading spaces are to the right of the
information as opposed to the left. The integrity of the number of required
spaces will then remain intact.
