I'm sure the coupon thing is a general policy. I'm sure the free dozen
here and there is just the manager being cool. No delusions there. One
just makes more sense than the other.

I'd -never- call PNC customer-friendly, but they sort cheques so that the
smallest ones clear first. That helps stop more of the snowball effect if
a client screws you and their cheque bounces. I had that happen three
times--all from the same client. Needless to say they're no longer a
client. They managed to (and I was told as a teen that this wasn't even
POSSIBLE) bounce a cashier's cheque. I kid you not. That was their second
payment on it after the first bounce, when I demanded a money order or
cashier's cheque. The third time I demanded a wire when I found out that
even a cashier's cheque -could- indeed bounce any time up to 14 days out.
I got my money, but I dropped the client.

Corporately, PNC is horrible IMHO. I'd switch if it wasn't for the huge
hassle of doing so. Locally, you can at least work with the local branch
managers. But their corporate office is hell to deal with.

Well that only makes sense.

True enough. :)

Just wait until some special interest group gets ahold of all this inequality!
Then see what a mess we end up with... :)
