It all depends on what you are buying and what the seller is.

If it's someone selling onsies and twosies now and then you have no
one to go back to.  If it's dealer/used-thing house there may be no
problem.

My partner has acquired many things that way and recently got a
couple of Foundry Networks L3 switches.  The typically benchmark
much faster than Cicso.  And we've had two problems with our
7120 which caused stoppage.   It appears not have had the same
quality of other Cicso products.   It even seems to be built a bit
lighter.   And it didn't stay in the product line too long.
You expect more from something that lists for $17K. OTOH
the old 2500 series was so rugged I think you could put wheels
on the bottom and use it as a skateboard.
