Windows 2000 2 GB file limit

At Fri, Nov 05, 2004 at 02:17:35PM -0500 or thereabouts, 
suspect Kenneth Brody was observed uttering:

I figured it was based in the 9x stuff.  What's weird is that if I start a
copy of a 2GB+ file -from- win95, it claims it can't do it (with a warning
box that vanishes right away for whatever reason).  However, if I start it
from the -other- side, it will actually start.  I didn't let it go more
than a few second because I didn't want to corrupt the FAT--I don't have
any faith in its ability to heal itself.  But you can inadvertantly trigger
a false acceptance on win9x (95b in this case) from the other side, so be
careful when pushing rather than pulling.
