I'm not suggesting it, I'm flat-out -saying- it. I'm staring at a 3.5gig
MPEG file which can be viewed completely--and was created here as well.
It's on a system with exactly what you cite--Windows 2000 with NTFS.
Windows 2000 with NTFS has -no- problems with files >2GB. Migration is a
waste of time--there are people on linux (which supports 4TB files under
some filesystems) who are hitting fP's 2GB file limit.
As Nancy said, fixing fP's limit is in the proposed changes for the next
paid upgrade to filePro. I don't know when that is to be released,
however. So your -immediate- solution set (since you're already at the
limit, not just warily nearing it) is a bit limited--archive older records
to a "backup" database, or use the extents that you were directed to by Ken
and the others.
