In the last exciting episode of the filePro saga,
Don Coleman was heard to say:"
if: Thu, Nov 04 14:03
then: nm = Don Coleman
if:
then: show nm < "said:"

Did you notice Nancy's reply that the 2GB+ limit will be fixed in
filePro 6.0.

If you are using NTFS as the filesystem MS has a 16 Terabyte file
size limit. And I think the FAT 32 is a 4GB file size limit.

You'd have to rebuild the file as deleted records will be available
for new records to be written in them. If you use a hex editor to
shorten the file you will probably open a can of worms that you
might never recover from.

If you need to add data, you could just remove some of the records
and FP will automatically re-use that space.

You could run a process to archive a goodly share of those records
to another file that has a mirrored structure and access that file
for older records [as an example].
