Ken:
I have been using similar naming convention as you suggested. However,
the client neglected to monitor the file size for the past several
weeks. They reach the 2GB file size limit approximately every two
months. Now I guess it is up to me to have the application monitor the
file size and create a new qualifier when needed. My issue at present
is to be able to access and view the data in the key file that has now
exceeded the MS limit. This client operates in a fairly regulated
industry where litigation is common and the data contained in this file
details order processing and approvals. I am assuming that no longer
being able to access this data is not an option. What I need is to
access and view within fP data that the OS will not allow access to. My
first thought was to create a copy of this fP file on a *nix system,
transfer the key file to that machine, reduce the key file size and put
it back on the Windows network. However, I'm not sure I can even
transfer it of the Win network.
