I also had filePro 4.0 running on a couple of "clamshell" style
Windows CE devices, like a NEC MobilePro 850 and a Psion unit. I didn't
notice the greatly decreased battery life on those units.
However, I was curious whether later versions of filePro might run
on something like a Sharp Zarus PDA. The new SL-6000 runs a Linux kernel
(version 2.4.18-rm7-pxa3-embedix) compiled by Sharp. I was especially
impressed by the 640x480 VGA compatible screen on the SL-6000.
There would probably have to be a large order of these things
waiting in the wings, though, before fPtech would look at developing for
one. I only have a couple of laptop and clamshell PDA filePro customers and
they would only be interested in purchasing a couple of dozen units for
their sales people.
