TTBOMK (not that karaoke lyrics are always accurate either :-), that is
both the way I've heard it, and they way I've sung it (for, I mean). I
remember it, because it struck me as British.

And speaking of live tours...
I saw them on the Divison Bell tour, what was that, 89? They played
The Big Sombrero -- the *original* Tampa Stadium, our NFL pitch.
78-someodd thousand seats. Sold it out, of course. Amongst their
lighting was a set of 6 or 8 trackspots... made out of 10K's, pointing
straight up into the powered mirrors. Long about the halfway point in
Numb, I noticed that these lights (which were off at the time) were all
pointed right behind the sound tower, in a long 'tail' it had, made of
the same awning fabric as it's roof.
And the top of the thing was *opening*.
No one else was looking, of course
And, slowly, something started to *rise up* out of that cover.
And Gilmour got to the guitar solo.
And when he played "dah dah dah *dwang*"...
80 kilowatts of light slammed into
a thirty foot diameter mirror ball, spinning slowly in the exact
center of the stadium.
It was absolutely, positively, and without doubt, *the* most
breathtaking piece of live-concert staging I have *ever* seen or heard
about, Garth Brooks high-wire act and Janet's right tit
notwithstanding.
The crowd, needless to say, went mad.
I'm quite certain no one of us who saw that (concert, tour) will ever
forget it.
