Password on Processing Tables

Somehow, some of our output processing tables have acquired a password.
How can we get back into these tables?  Some of them can be fixed using
the vi editor.we can go into the file by vi and delete the password, but
others look like a bunch of hieroglyphics using the vi editor and we
can't tell which part to remove.
