One of last weeks viruses was using an old hole in unpatched
IE systems - a hole that has been know for over a year.
And a new problem for web based mail servers - such as Hotmai and
Yahoo, and any other which performs HTML filtering means that users
names and passwords and the complete contents of their mailboxes
can be retreived.
After it was found Hotmail was patched, no word on Yahoo, and I've
seen nothing on other web mail utitlites which the discovered says
may be vulnerable.
This current ones involves opening a message in Internet Explorer
- a hole found in SMIL-based technology. SMIL - Synchronized
Multimedia Integration Language.
